Boutique Hotel Catshuis Review, Leeuwarden, Netherlands

There are five luxurious double rooms, all on the first floor (and two of them overlooking the canal). I stayed in Room 2 – one with a view of the canal – which is bright and very spacious, with wooden floors, soft rugs, a small marble-topped coffee table and comfortable grey designer armchair. The king-sized beds are very comfortable, with big fluffy pillows and anti-allergenic cases. There’s plenty of wardrobe space, along with a Krups espresso machine, ironing board and designer ceiling lamp.

Bathrooms come with a large walk-in shower and elegant sink basin. The Cats Room has a freestanding bath and twin sinks. The two rooms at the back are more or less identical to those at the front, except that they don’t overlook the canal. The room in the centre of the corridor (the Comfort Room) is slightly smaller, but by no means pokey.
